crazy witch

Tutorial done in PSPX2.

Must having some working knowledge of the program.

Freeware plugin DSB Flux - Linear Transmission

open the template and have your tubes and kit open, ready to go.

now add a new raster layer under the circle layer.

flood fill with this color: #202020

now apply the mask395 at default settings.

once its applied, right click on the mask to merge the mask group.

resize the mask group by 90%.

now add another new layer on top of that layer.

flood fill that new layer with this color: #df4a1f

apply the mask 382 at default settings.

right click on the mask to merge the mask group.

now add a new raster layer on top of the circle layer and select all.

open up paper9 and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer in the working canvas.

now open the halloween l-web element (glitter web) and resize by 60%.

copy and paste (C/P) it as a new layer above the paper9 layer.

click on the circle in the layer palette and float/defloat/invert selection.

hit delete on the paper9 layer.

select none and hide the circle layer.

now click back on the paper9 circle.

duplicate it and drag the copy under.

apply gaussian blur by 4 to the copy.

and use the following LINEAR TRANSMISSION settings:

now add a new raster layer above the strips layer.

use your magic wand tool to select the area outside the strips.

invert selection.

open paper1 from the kit and copy.

select the new raster layer and paste into selection.

select none and hide the strips layer.

duplicate the paper1 strips layer.

on the bottom strips layer,

apply the same gaussian blur and linear transmission settings as the paper9 circle.

now open frame4 from the kit and resize by 80%

C/P it as a new layer below the WITCH wordart layer.

use your mover tool to pull it down so it sits in the middle of the strips.

OPTIONAL

this part is only if you want the frame to have a full background.

use your magic wand tool to select the area outside the frame4.

expand by 5 and invert selection.

add a new raster layer all the way down the palette, above the glitter web layer.

open paper9 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on new layer and select none.

now time to add your tubes.

duplicate if you need to and position the tubes below the frame.

use the same magic wand method we used for the optional background

to get rid of excess portions of the tube.

use your eraser tool to delete any that "stick" into the other frames.

now click on the frame4 in the layer palette and select all.

under image, click crop to selection.

now for the wordart.

merge down the "crazy" with the "witch" layer.

add a new raster layer above and flood fill with this color: #df4a1f

now click the wordart and select all/float/defloat/invert selection.

hide the template wordart layer and hit delete on the flood fill layer.

select none.

now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.

don't forget to add artist credit and license info.

when you're all done, copy special > copy merged.

paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag.

invert selection and crop to selection.

that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
