Tutorial done in PSPX2.

Must having some working knowledge of the program.

with the files ready to go, let's get started.

open my template and delete the copyright info layer.

add a new raster layer above the background layer and select all.

open paper6 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

select none.

apply the mask at default settings.

right click on the mask layer to merge the mask group.

now add a new raster layer above the hearts background layer.

on the hearts background layer, select all/float/defloat.

open paper8 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

select none and hide the hearts background template layer.

repeat the steps you just did for the hearts background layer with the following papers and template layers:

Hearts Rectangles and paper6

Rectangle and paper8

Odd Shape and paper8

on the odd shape/paper8 layer, duplicate the layer.

apply a cutout with the following settings:

V - 0

H - 0

O - 100%

B - 100.00

shadow color - #000000

fill interior - unchecked

you can duplicate the cutout to darken the effect.

now open the postcard element from the kit and resize by 80%.

change the blend mode to overlay.

drag the postcard up so the top edge isnt showing on the odd shape/paper8 layer.

now go back down to the odd shape template layer and select all/float/defloat/invert selection.

expand selection by 1.

hit delete on the postcard.

select none.

now for the tube, if youre using the same tube I am, align the straight edge on the left with the

odd shape/paper8 layer below.

now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.

don't forget to add artist credit and license info.

when you're all done, copy special > copy merged. 

paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag. 

invert selection and crop to selection. 

that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
