with all the files open and ready to go, let's get started.

open my template and delete my copyright info layer.

add a new raster layer above the background layer.

select all.

open paper3 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

select none.

apply the mask at default settings.

right click on the mask layer to merge the mask ground.

now repeat the steps with paper2 and above the current mask.

on the first mask layer that you made, mirror and flip it.

on the oval template layer, select all/float/defloat.

add a new raster layer above it.

open paper3 from the kit and copy.

paste into the new raster layer.

select none and hide the oval template layer.

duplicate the paper3 oval.

on the duplicate, apply cutout (effects > 3d effects) with the following settings:

vertical - 0

horizontal - 0

opacity - 100%

blur - 75

shadow color - #000000

fill interior color - UNCHECKED.

change the blend mode to overlay.

merge down the cutout layer with the paper3 oval layer.

on the squares template layer, select all/float/defloat/invert selection.

open paper11 from the kit and copy.

paste as a new layer above the squares layer.

hit delete on the paper11.

select none and hide the squares template layer.

repeat the previous steps with paper2 and the strips template layer.

on the circle template layer, select all/float/defloat.

add a new raster layer above it.

open paper6 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

select none and hide the circle template layer.

now open a scallopedframe from the kit and resize by 70%.

copy and paste (C/P) as a new layer above the paper6 circle layer.

now open the tube.

select the close up tube (if you have one) and copy.

paste as a new layer below the scalloped frame element.

position it to your choosing.

use your magic wand tool to select the area outside the paper6 circle.

hit delete on the close up tube.

now go down to the background layer and select all.

crop to selection.

this deletes any excess tube portion on visible on the canvas.

back on the close up tube layer, go to effects > photo effects > black and white film.

apply it with these settings:

brightness - 0

clarify - 0

change the blend mode to soft light.

now that all the basics are done, add any elements, drop shadows, text and tubes.

don't forget to add artist credit and license info.

when you're all done, go down to the background layer and select all.

image > crop to selection.

this gets rid of any extra stuff not visible on the canvas.

hide the background layer.

edit > copy special > copy merged.

paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag.

invert selection and crop to selection.

that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
