with all the files ready to go, let's get started.
open my template and delete the copyright info layer.
add a new raster layer above the background layer and select all.
open paper7 from the kit and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer.
select none.
apply the mask at default settings.
now right click on the mask layer to merge the mask group.
now add a new raster layer above the Oval template layer.
on the Oval template layer, select all/float/defloat.
open paper9 from the kit and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer.
select none and hide the template layer.
repeat the last step with the following template layers and papers:
Diamonds and paper8
Strips and paper1
Hearts and paper7
Circle and paper4
Circle Border and paper1
now open the close up tube and resize to your choosing, I resized mine by 55%.
copy and paste (C/P) as a new layer above the Circle/paper4 layer but below the Circle Border/paper1 layer.
use my tag for placement reference.
add a slight drop shadow to the tube.
now on the Circle template layer, select all/float/defloat/invert selection.
hit delete on the tube layer and select none.
now go down to the background layer and select all.
crop to selection.
this erases any tube portions not visible on the canvas.
now go back to the close up tube and duplicate.
on the duplicate tube, change the blend mode to Lighten.
merge down one layer to merge the tubes to one layer.
now go back to the Circle/paper4 layer and duplicate.
pull the duplicate paper above the close up tube layer and add a cutout with the following settings:
V - 0
H - 0
Opacity - 100%
B - 100.00
shadow color - #000000
fill interior - unchecked
now change the blend mode of the cutout to overlay.
now open up the full body tube and resize to your choosing.
I resized mine by 45%.
C/P as a new layer on below the Text template layer.
use my tag for placement reference.
now add a new raster layer above the Text template layer.
on the Text template layer, select all/float/defloat.
choose any paper of your choice and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer.
select none and hide the Text template layer.
now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.
don't forget to add artist credit and license info.
when you're all done, copy special > copy merged.
paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag.
invert selection and crop to selection.
that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
thanks for trying my tutorial! =)
