with everything open and ready, let's get started.

open my template and delete my copyright layer.

add a new raster layer above the background layer and select all.

open paper2 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

select none.

apply the mask at default settings.

right click on the mask layer to merge the mask group.

now use your magic wand tool to select inside the Large Rectangle.

add a new raster layer above.

open paper5 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

select none and hide the Large Rectangle template layer.

repeat the steps for the following layers and papers:

Double Rectangles and paper4

Center Strip and paper3

now open the closeup tube and copy at 100%.

paste it as a new layer above the Double Rectangles/paper4 layer.

go up to effects > photo effects > black and white film.

apply with both the brightness and clarify settings at 0.

position the tube to the left rectangle.

duplicate and mirror the tube.

merge down so they are one layer.

change the blend mode to soft light.

duplicate it again with the blend mode set as soft light.

do not merge down.

now use your magic wand tool to select the area outside

the Double Rectangles/paper4 layer. 

hit delete on both the soft light tube layers.

select none.

now open the full body tube and copy.

paste it as a new layer on the very top at 100%.

now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.

don't forget to add artist credit and license info.

when you're all done, copy special > copy merged. 

paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag. 

invert selection and crop to selection. 

that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
