Tutorial done in PSPX2.

with all the files open, lets get started.
open the template and delete my copyright layer.
add a new raster layer below the circle1 layer.
hide the following layers:
circle2
squares frames
squares back
set the foreground color to:
set the background color to:
flood fill the new raster layer with the following gradient:
now use your pick tool to pull the gradient in close vertically around the circle1.
you should have something like below:

to add the babblecurtain element, paste it in above the gradient layer.
delete the extra portion along with the excess gradient portion in the next step.
now on the circle1 layer, select all/float/defloat/invert selection.
hide the circle1 layer and hit delete on the gradient layer.
select none.
now unhide the squares back layer.
open paper5 from the kit and copy.
add a new raster layer above the squares back layer.
use your magic wand tool to select outside the squares.
invert your selection.
paste into selection on the new raster layer.
*OPTIONAL*
to add the babblecurtain element, paste it in above the paper5 layer.
invert your selection.
hit delete on the babblecurtain layer.
select none and hide the squares back template layer.
now unhide the squares frames layer.
add a new raster layer below the squares frames layer.
using the previous gradient settings, flood fill the new raster layer.
use your pick tool to pull the gradient layer in around one side of the frames.
like below:

on the squares frames layer, select all/float/defloat/invert selection.
hide the squares frames template layer and hit delete on the gradient layer.
select none.
duplicate the gradient layer and mirror.
merge down so they are on 1 layer.
now on the gradient frames layer, go to effects > artistic effects > chrome.
apply these settings:
*CLICK IMAGE FOR LARGER PREVIEW*
now unhide the circle2 layer and select all/float/defloat.
add a new raster layer.
open paper5 and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer.
select none and hide the circle2 layer.
now open the following elements and resize to the following:
ladycaroler - 60%
malecaroler - 50%
now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.
don't forget to add artist credit and license info.
when you're all done, go down to the background layer and select all.
image > crop to selection.
this gets rid of any extra stuff not visible on the canvas.
hide the background layer.
edit > copy special > copy merged.
paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag.
invert selection and crop to selection.
that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
