with the files ready, let's get started.
open my template and delete my copyright info layer.
add a new raster layer above the background layer and select all.
open paper10 from the kit and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer.
select none.
now apply the mask at default settings.
right click on the mask to merge the mask group.
on the mask, go to adjust > add noise and use these settings:
random - checked
noise - 70%
monochrome - checked
now duplicate the mask.
on the bottom mask layer, apply a gaussian blur by 1.
duplicate the blurred mask one more time.
now add a new raster layer above Rectangle2 layer.
on the Rectangle2 template layer, select all/float/defloat.
open paper9A and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer.
select none and hide the Rectangle2 template layer.
repeat the previous step with the following:
Rectangle1 and paper7
Strip and paper14
Oval2 and paper10
Oval1 and paper11
go back down to the Rectangle1/paper7 layer,.
duplicate and apply a cutout to the copy.
use these settings:
V - 0
H - 0
O - 100%
B - 100.00
shadow color - #000000
fill interior - unchecked
change the blend mode to overlay for the cutout.
merge down the cutout with the paper7 layer.
repeat the previous step with the Oval1/paper11 layer.
now open your tube, select a close-up tube if available.
C/P at 100% as a new layer on top.
now use your move tool to position the tube over the center oval.
still on the tube, go up to effects > film effects > black and while film.
apply it with brightness and clarify both set at 0.
now change the blend mode of the tube to overlay.
go back down to the Oval1 template layer and select all/float/defloat/invert selection.
hit delete on the tube.
select none.
now on the layer palette, pull the tube below the Oval1/paper11 cutout.
now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.
don't forget to add artist credit and license info.
when you're all done, copy special > copy merged.
paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag.
invert selection and crop to selection.
that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
thanks for trying my tutorial! =)
