with all the files open, lets get started.
open a new image with transparent background at 750px b 650px.
add a new raster layer and select all.
open paper9 from the kit and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer and select none.
apply the mask at default settings.
right click on the mask layer to merge the mask group.
using the size of the mask, use your ellipse preset shape to create a circle.
hold down the shift key and drag the preset shape across
the canvas to make perfect circle.
now under the preset shapes flyout menu, select the symmetric shape.
on the canvas, right click and select edit mode.
the vector nodes should show up.
*if not, zoom in to click on the circle outline.*
on the color palette, make both foreground and background #ffffff.
go up to objects > align > center in canvas.
right click on the vector layer to rasterize it.
select all/float/defloat/invert selection.
open paper10 from the kit and copy.
paste it as a new layer above the circle.
hit delete on the paper10 layer and select none.
hide the white circle we just made.
do not add drop shadows yet.
open the snowflake-cluster element and copy.
paste as a new layer above the paper10 circle.
use your move tool to center it in the circle.
open the snowypines element and resize by 35%.
copy and paste (C/P) as a new layer above the snowflake-cluster.
image > mirror.
pull it to the right and half way up the circle.
now open the snowdrift element and resize by 50%.
C/P as a new layer above the snowypines.
duplicate it twice so you have a total of 3 layers.
hide the top 2 layers.
pull the bottom snowdrift layer below the snowypines layer.
use my tag for placement reference on the bottom snowdrift.
unhide the middle snowdrift and mirror it.
again, use my tag for placement reference.
now open the snowypines and resize by 50%.
C/P as a new layer above the middle snowdrift layer.
pull it to the left of the circle.
unhide the top snowdrift and pull it towards the bottom of the circle.
you should now have something that looks like below:
now go down to the bottom empty raster layer and select all.
image > crop to selection.
this gets rid of any extra paper not visible on the canvas.
now add drop shadows to the snowdrifts and trees.
on the hidden white circle we made earlier, select all/float/defloat/invert selection.
hit delete on the following layers:
snowflake-cluster
both snowypines
all snowdrift layers.
now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.
don't forget to add artist credit and license info.
when you're all done, go down to the background layer and select all.
image > crop to selection.
to get rid of any extra stuff not visible on the canvas.
hide the background layer.
edit > copy special > copy merged.
paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag.
invert selection and crop to selection.
that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
thanks for trying my tutorial! =)
