smashing halloween

Tutorial done in PSPX2.

Must having some working knowledge of the program.

this tutorial is super easy.

with your kit ready to go, lets get started!

first, open a new image with transparent background at 750px by 650px.

use your rectangle preset shape to make an elongated rectangle.

on your toolbar, select symmetric shape in the preset shapes flyout menu.

right click on the canvas and select edit mode.

now fill your foreground and background colors in the color palette with #000000.

right click on the layer palette to rasterize the vector layer.

now open paper13 from the kit and copy.

add a new raster layer above the rectangle.

use your magic wand tool to select the area outside the rectangle.

invert your selection and paste into selection on the new raster layer.

delete your black rectangle and select none.

now open paper7 from the kit and copy.

add a new raster layer above the paper13 rectangle.

paste into selection on the new layer.

select none.

now apply the mask at default settings.

right click on the mask layer to merge the mask group.

resize the mask group by 80%.

now open the following elements and resize accordingly:

bat - 35%

broom - don't resize

cat - 45%

crashedwitch - 

flower3 - 40%

jacko1 - 45%

now arrange them to your liking.

add any elements and text.

for the colors, use the following html colors:

green - #bcce90

purple - #8a808b

yellow - #fad28d

when you're all done, copy special > copy merged. 

paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag. 

invert selection and crop to selection. 

that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
