with everything ready to go, lets get started.

open the template and resize the canvas by 750px by 650px.

delete or hide the credits layer.

work from top to bottom.

merge down one layer the following layers:

pink/black dots 2 with pink/black dots 1

dotted outline 1 with dotted outline 2

rectangle 2 with rectangle 1

delete the following layers:

Pink Dots 1

Pink Dots 2

black bar 1

black bar 2

I'll be using the merged layer names for the remainder of the tutorial.

open the tborges_bracketsmania2_temp (2) element from the kit.

resize it by 70%.

copy and paste (C/P) it as a new layer above the background (bg) layer.

add a new raster layer above the rectangle 1 template layer.

on the rectangle 1 template layer, select all/float/defloat.

open paper7 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the raster layer.

select none and hide the rectangle 1 template layer.

repeat the steps for the following layers and papers:

dotted outline 2 and paper6

pink circle and paper9

pink/black dots 1 and paper1

now open up the tube. select the close up tube if you have one.

copy and paste as a new layer above the paper9/circle layer.

position the tube to your liking.

on the tube, go up to effects > photo effects > black and white film.

apply it with the following settings:

brightness - 0

clarify - 0

now change the blend mode to overlay.

go back to the pink circle template layer and select all/float/defloat/invert selection.

hit delete on the close up tube layer.

select none.

now go down to the background (bg) layer and select all.

crop to selection.

now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.

don't forget to add artist credit and license info.

when you're all done, copy special > copy merged. 

paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag. 

invert selection and crop to selection. 

that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
