[1.1.1] The earth and the sky were alone [1.1.2] and from their union was born Ileius[1]. [1.1.3] He was the first god. [1.2.4] Ileius illuminated the earth. [1.2.5] From this was born the Day [1.2.6] and from this was born also the Night. [1.3.7] The Night made all the ines[2] [1.3.8] that wander during the day, [1.3.9] for she watches over them when they sleep. [1.4.10] And the Day made all the ines [1.4.11] that wander during the night, [1.4.12] for she watches over them when they sleep. [2.5.13]

[2.5.13] And the ines, lonely and sad, [2.5.14] wandered throughout the whole world, [2.5.15] for a hundred years and for three hundred years. [2.6.16] And Ileius made flesh [2.6.17] of earth and sky and covered them with it. [2.6.18] Then the ines saw and touched each other. [2.7.19] But the flesh dies and feels cold [2.7.20] and the entrails feel hunger, pain and desire. [2.7.21] For this reason, Ileius made echnes[3] from the wind. [2.8.22] But these do not touch flesh nor are they seen by ines, [2.8.23] but they see flesh and ines [2.8.24] and these accompany them from their birth to their death.

[3.9.25] The echne takes the ine [3.9.26] as the body is dying [3.9.27] and tears it from it quickly and gently. [3.10.28] And then it carries it through the earth, [3.10.29] to the paths of Chenhahitoncy[4], [3.10.30] where its journey ends. [3.11.31] There the echne embraces the ine, [3.11.32] they become one and it remains there [3.11.33] and, protected by Ileius, they illuminated themselves with its light. [3.12.34] But the echnes abandon the ines who do not listen to them [3.12.35] and remain on earth, as in the beginning, [3.12.36] without going to Chenhanhitoncy[5].

[4.13.37] And Baere[6] was the greatest that was born from the earth and the sky, [4.13.38] because of his size, two ines dwelt in him [4.13.39] and an echne guided them on earth then. [4.14.40] But only one listened to him and the other, on the other hand, listened to the dissiacces[7] [4.14.41] who reached Entuico [4.14.42] and Baere fought against the troops of Imumhaee. [4.15.43] Because of this, the echne abandoned this ine [4.15.44] and then guided the other, who lied to the dissiacces [4.15.45] and killed their general. [4.16.46] But then the abandoned ine spoke to him [4.16.47] and it listened to it, losing himself, [4.16.48] and then killed the general of Imumhaee.

[5.17.49] Because of this, the echne then abandoned them [5.17.50] and then Baere was killed [5.17.51] by Imumhaee's troops, fighting with them. [5.18.52] The ines remained in the forest, forever, [5.18.53] closer to the dissiacces [5.18.54] than to those of Imumhaee. [5.19.55] Then, the Light of the Moon[8] was born [5.19.56] from Ileius and the Day united [5.19.57] and his skin was very white, like snow. [5.20.58] He protects those of Imumhaee and those of Entuico [5.20.59] who go to the other side of the mountain [5.20.60] from the dissiacces, the thieves and the murderers.

[4] Čěn'han'hito'ntieto, Chenjanjitoncietus or Chenjanjitoncy ("Tunnels of Shadows") is the underworld of Erhjephap mythology. It consists of a series of tunnels and underground passages where the echnes live, alongside the gods, and are protected by them.
[5] The echnes act as the conscience of living beings, ensuring that they remain noble, pursue good goals, and avoid falling into bad habits. They are how the Erhjephaps understood guilt, compassion, duty, love, and so on. But when living beings ignored them, their echnes abandoned them, leaving them lost and disoriented. When they die, they do not go to Chenjanjitoncy, but remain on earth, wandering forever.
[6] Bairetomu, ("Black Wolf ").
[7] dis'sяk'keto, term used by the Erhjephaps to refer to the Tyshjaguges.
