Tony Mulholland

Jump jockey Anthony Bernard Mulholland was born on July 23, 1965. He served a three-year apprenticeship on the Flat with Henry Cecil, for whom he had just one ride. He rode his first winner on Paddy’s Dream, trained by Simon Christian, at Devon & Exeter on May 5, 1986.

Tony enjoyed his best season numerically in 1987/88 with 11 wins. However, he had by far his biggest day when winning the Coral Golden Hurdle Final at the 1990 Cheltenham Festival on 20-1 shot Henry Mann, also trained by Simon Christian.

Later that same season, on May Day Bank Holiday Monday, he rode a double for Christian at Devon & Exeter, winning a handicap hurdle on Members’ Revenge and a handicap chase on Tommy's Dream.

Tony last held a licence for the 1994/95 season.
