Roger Moseley

1900 - 1975

(Major) Roger Bright Moseley was born on August 22, 1900, and answered to the nickname 'Babe'.

He was one of the people who ran three-day eventing and helped to found Badminton Horse Trials.

His biggest wins were in the 1931 Welsh Grand National on Wise Don and the 1938 Victory Hurdle on Prudent Achtoi.

He also won the 1930 Grand Military Gold Cup on Slieve Green.

He rode Slieve Green in the 1931 Grand National but fell - some sources say he was brought down - at the 23rd fence.

Babe died on June 9, 1975.
