Eamon Murphy

One of three jockey brothers, Eamon Robert Murphy was born in Limerick on June 9, 1964, and was apprenticed to Eddie Harty & Kevin Prendergast.

His first winner was Havaniceday at The Curragh in September 1980 and he went on to become the champion conditional rider in 1985-86 with 37 winners.

He began riding at the age of five. He rode 12 winners on the Flat and four winners over hurdles before moving to England.
