Stan Moore

The son of a haulage contractor, James Stanley Moore was born at Dromore, Co. Down on 10 September 1961, and was apprenticed to Tommy Burns.

His first winner was Whistling Tara at The Curragh in 1976.

Stan married Sara, the daughter of NH jockey Michael Peter Roberts, who rode 45 winners (including that good mare Cutlette).

His best win came on Neblin in the 1997 Tote Gold Trophy.

Once retired from the saddle, he began training.
