Alf Mullins

1913 -1976

Alfred Samuel Mullins, the brother of jockey Ken, was born on a farm on July 29, 1913, in Monmouth.

By 16 he was riding in local point-to-points, turning professional shortly before the war.

He rode about 200 winners before retiring and becoming a farmer.

Alf rode the winner of two Welsh Grand Nationals; Gallery (1950) & Ditton Lass (1952).

He died on August 1, 1976, aged 63.
