NBC TV Personality & Ridgewood High School Football Captain, Willie Geist, to host ‘1991 Championship Chalk Talk’ 

As part of RHS Alumni Association Homecoming Weekend, a Chalk Talk event hosted by RHS Alum Willie Geist will be held on
Saturday, October 9th at 4 PM at the RHS Stadium.

In the Classroom

Quilts as Artifacts

Last Friday the AHLISA classes took a field trip to the Bergen County Quilt and Coverlet show held at the Old Paramus Church and Schoolhouse Museum. Students had the opportunity to examine and study locally made quilts dating from 1800 to 1970.

Forensic Science

Photographing a Crime Scene

Students in Dr. Walters and Mrs. Stucke's Forensic Science Classes are working on documenting a crime scene. After setting up the scene, they had to photograph and write up the photolog explaining each picture. 

African Violet Cloning

Students in Mrs. Joseph's Genetics & Biotechnology class used a sterile technique in lab, in an attempt to clone an African Violet plant. 

Club Happenings 

RHS Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam

RHS InvenTeam Students presented their Solar Aqua Tech invention at the faculty meeting on Monday, October 4th.  The next day, the students met with representatives from the US Army to discuss how to scale their technology to military use.  Last year, the RHS InvenTeam students qualified for the final round of the NJ STEAM Tank competition and will compete next week on October 12th.

RHS Green Club's First Cleanup of the Year

The RHS Green Club went out to Habernickel Park for the first trash pickup of the year. Mr. Luo and 38 students volunteered their time and made the event a great success. Six students even went into the water to collect trash from the brook itself! 

The next cleanup will be this Sunday at the Dunham Trail.

Project Interact Cleans Up Twinney Park
Project interact joined forces with Ridgewood AM Rotary to clean the path at
Twinney Park.

Project Interact Check Presentation  Project Interact along with Principal Nyhuis presented a check to American Legion Post #53 Commander Bob Paoli.  The Gold Star Mothers Memorial is planned to be installed by Memorial Day in Van Neste Square.

Ridgewood Volleyball Senior Night 2021

Ridgewood's varsity volleyball team was victorious over ten other teams last month to win the annual Mustang Invitational Tournament at Clifton HS.  The team has landed the number 4 seed for the Bergen County Tournament, and will host Lyndhurst in the preliminary round at Ridgewood High School on Saturday, October 9th, at noon.  Please join the volleyball team on Tuesday, October 12th when they host Holy Angels for the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day.  JV will play at 4:15 and varsity will play at 5:30.  There will be a bake sale and a serving contest to win Ridgewood swag with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
