Career Development Conference
DECA Results
Our RHS DECA chapter had a great International Career Development Conference (ICDC). We traveled with 43 students (from all 4 grade levels) to Orlando, Florida and took time outside of competition to make sure these students got an opportunity to connect with each other and become a more cohesive group. For competition each event is broken into approximately with 10 flights with 20 individuals or team in each flight. From each flight the top 2 teams/students qualify into finals. If a student makes finals they present to a new judge (same judge as the other finalists) and try to earn DECA glass.
Ridgewood had 4 students (3 teams/solos) who qualified into finals.
Saachi Agarwal and Aashi Jesalpura made finals in Financial Operations Research Event and finished between 11-20.
Matt Hirsh made finals in the Stock Market Game and finished between 11-20.
Margaret Zhou received the top role play score in both her preliminary rounds for her flight. She also made finals and after her finals role play added to her test score, she took 5th place in her event.
Thanks to our chaperones: Casey Garlasco, Michael McDermott, Mallory Stucke, and Andrea Watson.

RHS Green Club Tests Water Quality to Prepare for Trout in the Classroom
The Green Club has been setting up an aquarium to raise trout next school year as part of the New Jersey's Trout in the Classroom program. This involves testing our water to ensure it is suitable enough to raise the fish from eggs starting in September. Once they reach a larger size, they will be released into local streams as part of the State's trout stocking program. Sophomore Riley Burke has been leading the effort in preparing the school's application.
