Science 

Mrs. Walters' Forensic Classes set up their own crime scenes and photographed them in class this week.  

Freshman Focus

The Freshman Focus classes are getting into the Halloween spirit with some team building activities like pumpkin carving.

Physics

Inspired by Galileo, Apollo 15 astronauts on the moon, and scientists at NASA world's largest vacuum chamber, physics students, using balls of a similar-sized but different mass (a light Mets ball and a-G ball with a built-in sensitive timer), studied the beauty of free fall motion from the football bleachers. 

Around the Building

RHS is proud to announce the names of the following four students who were named National Merit Scholarship Competition Semifinalists. Out of the approximately 1.5 million students who took the PSAT exam last year, nearly 16,000 semifinalists were named nationally. Congratulations!

Club Happenings 

The Applied Engineering Club had a pizza party to celebrate the 2021-2022 accomplishments at the NJSTEAM Tank Challenge and form new teams (12 so far) to invent solutions with technology for helping others.

I.C.E. team placed first, winning the $2500 prize for the invention of their Induced Cooling Embrace blanket to help reduce blood loss in trauma patients.

Chempost team received certificates of accomplishment for the invention of their methane-defusing compost bin. Not in the picture are Elise D’Alonzo (senior), Mason Fraiman (junior), Trevor Phillips (sophomore), and Aaron Shefter (sophomore).

FireGone team received certificates of accomplishment for the invention of a wildfire assessor. 

Project Interact

Project Interact members were involved in facilitating kid’s games at the Pediatric Cancer Food Truck event at Veteran's Field on October 9th !  

Members also helped with chalk activities at the kids’ table and assembled utensil kits for Access for All.

Ridgewood Crew Back on the Regatta Circuit

The Ridgewood Crew team had a great weekend on the Passaic, participating in the Head of the Passaic River Regatta (HOPR). Thirty four teams participated, with teams ranging from high school to masters. Ridgewood Crew participated with 26 entries of Ridgewood High School athletes.
