Club Happenings
Eight members of the RHS Spanish Honor Society recently brought their passion for language and culture to Benjamin Franklin Middle School. Under the guidance of their advisor, Sra. Rotella, the students visited Sra. Gill’s 8th grade Spanish classes to deliver a dynamic, student-led lesson on clothing and cultural themes. The engaging visit not only enriched the middle schoolers’ learning experience but also fostered a sense of connection and inspiration between current and future Spanish scholars.
Ridgewood Quiz Bowl has wrapped up another season! From April 24-27, the team of (in image order) Senior Eli Young, Senior Connor Yu, Sophomore Nate Stephens, and Senior Aditya Rajesh took on IAC Nationals in DC, AKA History Bowl, ran by Ridgewood Alum (and RHS Quiz Bowl assistant coach) David Madden. The team made it to the playoffs, before falling to Caddo Parish of Louisiana and eventual winners Livingston NJ, which was good enough to get them 18th in the entire country for History Bowl. From May 23-25, the team of (clockwise order, all seniors) Aditya Rajesh, Connor Yu, Eitan Schneider, Eli Young, and Daniel Khalitov took HSNCT Nationals (classic Quiz Bowl) down in Atlanta. Despite some unlucky mishaps along the way, such as somebody being accidentally checked out of their room (by the hotel), the team persisted. Led behind the 54.5 PPG of Aditya Rajesh, the team went 7-5, and finished 65th nationally! The team also went to the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coke, if anyone cares. Livingston won this one, BTW. Remember, Room 203 Mondays and Thursdays. We hope to see you there next year!
