As part of the State's RevolutionNJ250 program (recognizing the pivotal role of New Jersey
on this 250th anniversary of the American Revolution), Governor Murphy visited

Pitching Physics
In the Physics CP classes, students take their learning outdoors to enjoy the crisp fall air and golden leaves as they throw baseballs across the field to study projectile motion. Each pitch becomes an experiment, as students measure range and air time to see the kinematic equations come alive. With every throw, they experience firsthand how launch velocity, angle, gravity, and time shape a baseball’s graceful arc—proving that physics isn’t just numbers on a page, but motion in action!
The class cheered as the record throw soared an impressive 66 yards with a launch velocity of 24 m/s. For comparison, baseball legend Derek Jeter regularly threw at about 27 m/s—proof that our students aren’t far behind the pros when it comes to combining science and skill!

Yearbook Class
Last month, the Yearbook class took a walking field trip through town to meet with local business owners. This outing provided students with a valuable opportunity to engage with the community while gaining real-world experience in communication and marketing.
During the visit, students discussed advertising options for the 2026 Senior Yearbook, learning how local partnerships help make the publication possible. This experience not only allowed them to practice professional interactions but also deepened their understanding of how collaboration supports the success of the yearbook program.
The Yearbook staff returned inspired and motivated to continue building connections that celebrate and represent the Ridgewood community.
PREP Students Shop for Halloween Treats
On October 10th, PREP students took a community trip to Target to shop for Halloween candy for staff and family members. Students had the opportunity to apply important life skills they’ve been practicing in class — including navigating store aisles, locating items on a shopping list, and making a purchase at the register. Everyone showed great independence, teamwork, and responsibility while shopping. It was a fun and festive way to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences!

ASL at Super Soccer Saturday
This year’s Super Soccer Saturday featured an ASL signer
for the first time! Tessa Noah delivered an incredible performance of the National Anthem, continuing Ridgewood’s tradition of excellence while promoting community awareness in alignment
with the ASL Club’s mission.

Unified Sports
Super Soccer Saturday celebrated inclusion this year by featuring Unified Sports in several exciting ways! Our athletes were invited to stand with the RHS soccer players during the National Anthem and had the opportunity to showcase their own soccer skills during halftime. These are the very skills they’ve been developing each week with the help of our dedicated Club Leaders and Volunteers during our soccer clinics. Thank you to the RSA for making it all possible!
Don’t forget to join us every Wednesday this month from 6:00–7:00 PM on the RHS field for our remaining soccer clinics!
JSU Celebrates Sukkot
RHS students in the Jewish Student Union celebrated the holiday of Sukkot by building candy succahs!
Sukkot is one of the most joyful festivals on the Jewish calendar. Sukkot refers to the Jewish festival of giving thanks for the fall harvest. Traditions of this holiday include erecting a sukkah (a small, temporary booth or hut) which are commonly used during the seven-day festival for eating, entertaining, and even for sleeping.
Above is the link to a new system being used to display all the flyers
for RHS upcoming events as well as events across the community.
