AP Environmental Science Test Different Vehicles for Carbon Dioxide Emissions
AP Environmental Science students tested their own vehicles for carbon dioxide and air particulate matter emissions by using filter paper and bromothymol blue indicator solution. Although they found that many factors contribute to the end results, they found that newer technologies and modern emissions regulations have helped newer cars emit less carbon than older cars.

Handshape Art
This week, the ASL 1 students learned about De'via art. De'via art is artwork created by Deaf people, which represents the Deaf experience and struggles. Students used the artist Chuck Baird as inspiration to create handshape art. Each student/group picked a sign and painted the literal meaning of the sign on their hands.
Students in the photos are portraying the signs for ART, RUN and SEASONS: Nora Emmanuel, Casey McAskin, Samantha Lee, Juliana Stephan.
RHS DECA States Results
Over the course of February 27th-March 1st, 104 RHS DECA students attended the NJ DECA State conference. Here students presented their 20 page papers or 10 page papers and competed in impromptu role play scenarios. In the majority of the events, students competed in a preliminary round and had to be the best of their flight to move onto the final round of competition. In finals students completed a new impromptu scenario or presented their papers again. The final rankings determined who moved onto the next round. Top 6 in the paper categories and top 7 in the role play categories are now eligible to attend and compete in the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida from Friday, April 21st - Wednesday, April 26th. In addition to the overall results, students are eligible to receive a mini award for being in the top 3 in their event on their category test or being the top in their preliminary flight on their role play/presentation. There are no mini awards for events without exams (20 page papers and the two entrepreneurship 10 page papers: Start-up Business Plan and Innovation Plan).
