Woodworking & Design
Charcuterie Anyone?
Woodworking and design students completed their cutting board made of hard maple and African mahogany. They used the CNC router and the laser engraver to add some decorative features. The boards will be on display for the next 2 weeks in the hallway display case outside of Room 198.

The beauty and possibilities of working with clay
The students have shown impressive progress in ceramics class, mastering the pinch, coil, and slab methods with skill and creativity. With these foundational techniques under their belts, they eagerly approached their first experience on the pottery wheel. The excitement in the studio was palpable as they dove into this hands-on art form, discovering the unique beauty and possibilities of working with clay in motion.
Science and Art in Anatomy and Physiology Class
Anatomy and Physiology Students model body tissues using reusable (modeling) clay. Then, they guess each other's types of tissues on post-its and give feedback using BAG (begin with a positive, ask a question, give a suggestion). Finally, the students read each other's feedback and write a reflection/ revise their models if necessary.
Ten members of the RHS Applied Engineering Club are participating in the Lemelson-MIT Rail Innovation in Action: Community Impact Program, running every Saturday from October 18 to December 13. We’re proud of our students for their commitment to exploring creative solutions in human-centered issues that shape the community’s relationship with the railroad industry, both today and in the future. Go Inventors!
