Diwali Celebration
The name Diwali comes from a sanskrit word that means “row of lights." The celebration takes place worldwide in countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Guyana, Fiji, Singapore and is revered as the new year for many in the Jain, Buddhist, Sikh and Hindu communities. These faiths all have different stories to explain Diwali, but they are connected by the essence of good overcoming evil, and the light of goodness prevailing within us and helping us do good to ourselves and others.
