In the Classroom

Marshmallow Challenge in Engineering

Mr. Wohner's Real World Engineering class started the year participating in the marshmallow challenge in which teams had 18 minutes to place a marshmallow on top of the tallest tower they could build out of spaghetti, tape and string. The winning team was 26" tall.

RHS InvenTeam featured in Ridgewood Living Magazine

AquaTechBottle pdf.pdf

Ridgewood Living Magazine recently published an article featuring RHS InvenTeam where each multidisciplined member, Elliott Ewell (Senior), Justin Wang (Senior), Shriya Dani (Senior), David Sklar (Senior), Tate Cunningham (Junior), Emmet Kunzle (Junior), Hailey Haglid (RHS '22), Emily Truszkowski (RHS'22), Clare Walicki (RHS'22), Theodore Stephens (RHS'22), and Patrick De Meulder (RHS'21) shared the journey of the Solar Aqua Tech invention.

The quote  "Everybody had a purpose --- perhaps that is the secret to creating a great team, a great invention, and a great culture." catches the essence of what the InvenTeam is all about.

Social Studies Class Offers College Credit

Dual Credit .pdf (1) - Lisa Wiater.pdf

Last year a new semester-long class was added to the Social Studies curriculum, "The Power of ONE: The Holocaust & Beyond." It's taught by Ms. Lisa Wiater who has a master's degree in Holocaust & Genocide Studies and who has travelled around the world learning about genocide and mass atrocities. The class focuses on how one person can make a difference.

She has arranged for RHS students to earn college credit this semester by enrolling in the class at RHS and at Stockton University. There's still time to add the class to your schedule if you have availability. The class is taught only during the Fall semester during period 1.

On Friday, September 9th, the entire school gathered for a BBQ lunch.  School clubs had tables and displays for students to check out and join.
