 School Counselors Visit NACAC Conference

Mrs. Teel and Ms. Roberts (RHS School Counselors) had the opportunity to attend the 2023 National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) Conference in Baltimore! Attendance at the conference is an excellent way for our counselors to make networking connections with other school counselors and college admissions teams, visit local colleges, attend education sessions outlining best practices and the newest admissions research, and attend discussions with notable figures such as Jay Shetty (New York Times best selling author and popular podcast host) and Miguel Cardona (the U.S. Secretary of Education).

National Merit Scholarship Competition Semi-Finalists

Four RHS students have been recognized in the National Merit Scholarship Competition as semi-finalists.  About 1.5 million students took the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) last October and entered the National Merit Program, a nationwide competition for recognition and awards.  Only semi-finalists have an opportunity to continue in the competition for Merit Scholarships to be offered next spring. Congratulations to these students on such an impressive accomplishment!

Back to School Night

Last night was Ridgewood High School's annual Back to School Night! Mr. Schwarz (Ridgewood Superintendent) and
Mr. Nyhuis (RHS Principal) began the night with a state of the school address in the Campus Center. Parents and guardians were then invited to visit each of their children's classes by following a condensed schedule that included Periods 1-8. Faculty and staff were present to answers questions and give some insight into the strategies they utilize in their classrooms and around the building everyday here at RHS.
