The Challenge: The wellness department faced a persistent hurdle of finding durable paddles for senior activity classes. Modern pickleball paddles often lacked the longevity of vintage gear, making it difficult to maintain a reliable inventory for students.
The Vision: To solve this, a cross-departmental collaboration was formed between wellness teacher Mr. Kay and art teacher Mr. Wohner. The goal was to leverage the expertise of woodshop master Mr. Wohner to design and manufacture custom paddles that were both more durable and more cost-effective than commercial alternatives.
Double Dutch is underway during lunch in Gym 1.
