The ASL 3 students have been working for 2 months interpreting the song of their choice.
Many people think ASL is the same as English, but it has a very different grammatical structure. The students spent countless hours finding the meaning of their song and researching the proper signs to convey that meaning. Twelve students volunteered to perform their songs at our 1st Annual ASL Song Showcase. They did an incredible job performing for family and friends!

Unified Sports Club brought some summer vibes to the Campus Center with a fun and festive semi-formal dance! The Campus Center was transformed with beachy decorations, creating the perfect backdrop for the evening’s festivities. A DJ kept the energy high, playing a mix of popular songs that had everyone out on the dance floor. Students danced the night away, showing off their best moves and celebrating together.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is observed in the United States during the month of May and recognizes the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. The month of May was chosen
to commemorate the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants to the United States on May 7, 1843, and was
officially designated as a heritage month by President George H. W. Bush in 1992.

Students Claire Lee (10) and Kathryn Shin (9) competed in the State Contest of New Jersey National History Day on May 3 at William Paterson University. In preparation for the state competition, the students thoroughly revised their projects based on feedback from judges in the regional contest. Congratulations to Kathryn Shin who placed first in her category and will advance to the national competition with her exhibit The Capitol Crawl:
A Climb towards Equality and Inclusion for the Disabled. She has also been nominated to represent New Jersey and display
her exhibit at the National Museum of American History.
About National History Day
National History Day is a year-long academic program focused on historical research, interpretation and creative expression for 6th- to 12th-grade students.
By participating in NHD, students become writers, filmmakers, web designers, playwrights and artists as they create unique contemporary expressions of history. The experience culminates in a series of contests at the local and affiliate levels and an annual national competition in the nation's capital in June.
This year's theme is Rights & Responsibilities in History.
