In the Classroom

Organic Compounds

Mr. Luo's Biology CP class tested six different foods to see which organic compounds they contained. They accidentally cooked salmon in the process and apologize to the other classes in Room 292 for any unpleasant seafood odors!

The "Cand"ium Element

It is the time of the year, Halloween is around the corner! The Chemistry Honors students discovered a new element, Candium, here at RHS. Like most elements in nature, Candium occurs as a mixture of two or more isotopes. Each isotope has a fixed mass and percent abundance. Students were tasked to develop procedures to find the Candium’s average atomic mass to place it on the periodic table. They were warned not to taste any isotopes since they might be radioactive!
