Around the Building

In the Classroom

À bientôt, Paris!

Sixteen Ridgewood High School students recently returned from a fabulous exchange trip in Lille, France.  The students stayed with their French correspondents who visited Ridgewood this past October.  They attended school and truly experienced French family life.  The students also visited Bruges (Belgium) and then spent three nights in Paris.  This trip provided an opportunity to use the language, experience culture, and make global connections in a way they will never forget.  French teachers Laura Polk (RHS) and Celeste Riley (GWMS) organized and chaperoned the exchange.  For more photos, check out their Instagram account:  https://www.instagram.com/rhsfrexchange23/

Club Happenings

Latin Club

The Ridgewood High School Latin Academic teams performed exceptionally well at the NJ Junior Classical League regional competition at Princeton! Both the Advanced Level team (Eitan Schneider, Brian Chun, Lauren Lim, and Marie Kim) AND the Intermediate Level team (Ben Soung, Remy Choe, Molly Harrington, Liza Williams, and Claire Cho) won their divisions, and have earned the right to compete at the state level in May. They are now busy training for competition at the NJ Junior Classical League state convention!

Arrow Yearbook

This week the Arrow yearbook staff completed and submitted the 2023 Senior and Underclassmen Arrow Yearbooks to our printer. The books are due in early April in order to be printed, bound and shipped in early June in order to meet our distribution at the end of the year. Our Co-Editors in Chief Audrey Larson, Izzy Oddy, and Charlotte Ran coordinated both books this year and guided the team to this success.

German Club

Our German club made 60 Easter baskets for an organization that is called "I am Hope NJ".

This organization delivered 5000 baskets to various charitable organizations in Paterson and other towns in Northern New Jersey.

Boys Varsity Lacrosse

The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team posed for a team photo after their season opener vs Hunterdon Central HS.  The players honored Basil Pizzuto with their helmet decals.

Ridgewood Crew

The Ridgewood Crew team recently participated in the third of the 2023 Manny Flick / Horvat Series of rowing races before the annual regatta season begins. In the rowing world, the only regattas on the Schuylkill are the upcoming City Championships, the Catholic League Championships, and the Stotesbury Cup Regatta.

To give the crews time to size up the competition beforehand, local teams came up with a series for the rowers at the "flicks" on the same racecourse. The “flicks” are named after Manuel A. Flick, a father who organized the first series in the 1950s. The one-day regatta attracted 81 clubs. Ridgewood Crew had 16 entries, more than any other participating club.
