In the Classroom
The Advanced level Latin Academic Team is State Champions! They competed at the NJ Junior Classical League state convention on Saturday, April 5, and dominated the competition with a score of 190, winning the title for NJ. They are now eligible to compete at the National Convention of the National Junior Classical League in the summer to represent New Jersey!
Students in Forensic science started the Anthropology unit by examining bones and identifying animal or human.
Club Happenings
Ridgewood Cambodia Club participated in the TEEEM World Cup Soccer tournament alongside Waldwick High School, Cliffside Park High School, and Montclair High School. The event raised over $6,000 total, of which, Ridgewood raised $1,225.
On Tuesday, April 8th, Gavin Fraiman and Chloe Ten-Ami competed in a Business Plan competition hosted by Kean University. They were invited to compete based on their DECA Business Growth Plan proposal from DECA States. At the competition, Gavin and Chloe had to showcase their business idea, BC_DUBS, in no more than 5-6 slides, including their equity ask to help grow their business idea. At the conclusion of the event, Gavin and Chloe found out that they were awarded 1st place for the high school division.
Ridgewood Freshman Will Karins competed at the USA Snowboard Association National Championship at Copper Mountain, Colorado. Out of the 80 best kids in the country in his age group, he finished 5th in Slopestyle and 19th in Rail Jam.
The boys varsity basketball team culminated a historic season with their banquet last week. The team had much to celebrate:
Back to Back State Sectional Champions, Undefeated League Champions, Winning-est Team in RHS history (26-4 record), BCCA Team of the Year. Additionally Coach Troy was named BCCA Coach of the Year and reached over 300 wins in his career at RHS, with assistance from Coach Aday and Coach D.

Johnny Jackson (senior): NJ.com Player of the Year and 1st Team All-State, Big North Conference Player of the Year, 1st Team All North Jersey, 1st Team All County, 1st Team All Jambo, 1st Team All-League, 2nd Team All-State NJ Athletics, All Group 4 Team
Tyler Nesland (senior): 1st Team All County, 1st Team All League, 2nd Team All North Jersey, All Group 4 Team, All Jambo Honorable Mention
Mac Radossich (senior)- 1st Team All League, 2nd Team All County, All Group 4 Team
Charlie Schwanemede (senior)- 2nd Team All League, All Jambo Honorable Mention, Coach’s Award
Jake Roth (senior)- 2nd Team All League, Back to Back Charge Champ
Sebastian Rogers (sophomore)- All League Honorable Mention
Theo Casavant (senior)- Coach’s Award
This is a special team that will go down in the history books and will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations to all!
