Valentine's Day is around the Corner....
On Wednesday, February 14th, the Maroon Men and AcaBellas will be taking part in their thirteenth annual Valentine's Day Singing Gram Fundraiser throughout the school day serenading lucky recipients of a singing gram throughout the school day. Additionally, our third a cappella group, the Rhapsodies, will give a performance in the Little Theater during lunch and will be collecting donations.
Legendary U.S. Goalkeeper Briana Scurry Visits RHS
On Tuesday, February 6, two-time Olympic gold medalist and World Cup champion, Briana Scurry, spoke to students as part of the English department’s “Tell Me Your Story” program. Ms. Scurry shared her story of triumph, tragedy, and redemption and left students with a message of resilience, determination, and hope.
Funded through a grant from the Ridgewood Education Foundation, Ms. Scurry’s visit coincides with Black History Month.

RHS A Capella
All three a cappella groups from RHS competed recently in the International Championship of High School A Cappella and did an amazing job representing Ridgewood. The AcaBellas came in first place taking the title of Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinal Champions! They will be moving on to the Semifinals at Northern Highlands Regional HS on March 23rd. Here is the link to their winning set.
Additionally, Bianca David of the AcaBellas received the Outstanding Soloist award, and Connor McGorty of the Maroon Men received the Outstanding Arrangement award for his arrangement of "Everybody Talks." On Sunday, the Rhapsodies directed by Alyssa Fanelli came in fourth place.

Model UN
RHS Model UN attended its first conference of the year on February 1-2 at Bergen County Academies. Ridgewood delegates spent the better part of two days representing 13 countries and 3 historical figures in 8 different committees debating and negotiating with other students from around the state. Isabella Fonseca and Travis Jeong both brought home Verbal Commendations for their contributions to the Commission on the Status of Women and the Special Political and Decolonization Committee, respectively. Congratulations to all of the delegates!

The RHS Band just completed a 6 day tour of Southern California from February 1-6. Highlights included: Performances at Disneyland California Adventure, Disney Soundtrack Recording Sessions, Winter Guard performance at the WGASC Ramona HS competition,
band clinics with composer Rossano Galante, Jazz Ensemble performances at Hollywood Catalina Jazz Club with Wayne Bergeron,
tours of Sony Studios, Hollywood, Beverly Hills & more!
