RHS at Equity Forum
On Wednesday, April 23rd, six Ridgewood High School students joined peers from eight other Bergen County schools at the Equity Think Tank forum held at Ramapo College. The event challenged student representatives to identify an equity-related issue in their schools and propose a thoughtful, actionable solution. Through collaboration and critical thinking, each team developed a plan aimed at fostering positive change in their school communities.

RHS 2025 DECA ICDC
Top 20 Finalists, Kate Schmitt & Raphaella Bravo
Top 20 Finalist, Grace Freeborn
Role Play Award, Henry Rothman
From April 25th- April 30th, 50 Ridgewood High School DECA students traveled to Orlando, Florida for DECA's International Career Development Conference (ICDC).The students competed in various competitions including project management, entrepreneurial ventures, impromptu role play scenarios, and
school-based enterprise. In addition 6 students attended leadership academies run by leadership professionals, whose goal is to empower DECA members
to provide effective leadership through goal setting, consensus building and project implementation. All the students in attendance performed well and felt like they ended the year giving their strongest performances. Henry Rothman received a Role Play award, which acknowledges that he had the highest role play score in his Principles of Entrepreneurship Event, for his competitive flight. Grace Freeborn qualified into the finalist round for her Retail Merchandising Series Event, and finished in the Top 20 at ICDC. Raphaella Bravo and Kate Schmitt made it into the finalist round for their Project Management Business Solutions Project for the Bergen County Zoo. They also finished in the Top 20 for their competition event. In addition to competing, the students attended a 3 hour educational program with the Disney Imagination Campus Program. The students learned about how Disney manages conveying a store with their rides/experiences and ensures the physics principles also work correctly. As an added bonus, students had the opportunity to listen to Amy Rhota as one
of the Imagination Campus Program leaders. Amy is an RHS graduate, who works full time in Guest Relations with the Walt Disney World Company and
was able to share her career path and how she has utilized skills she learned at RHS and applied them to her career at WDW.
The AcaBellas performance from the International Championship of High School A Cappella Finals last Friday at the Town Hall in NYC. They gave a stunning performance of their 10-minute set. In March, they earned the title of the Mid-Atlantic Champions
(out of 47 groups) and returned to the Finals stage for the second year in a row. I am incredibly proud of their dedication to vocal performance and the way they represented Ridgewood in front of the producers and groups from all across the country. Thank you for your continued support of the performing arts.
