Boy Scout Troop 7 Ridgewood Recognizes New Eagle Scout
Mathias Nguyen-Van-Duong, a senior at Ridgewood High School, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout—the highest achievement in the Boy Scouts of America. Nationally, only about 8% of all Scouts achieve this rank, which requires a significant demonstration of leadership, service, and commitment.
While volunteering at the New Day Program, an adult day care center in Norwood, Mathias built meaningful relationships with the participants—adults on the autism spectrum who rely on the center for life skills training and community support. Wanting to give back in a lasting way, Mathias chose New Day as the focus of his Eagle Scout Service Project. He led the construction of two picnic tables, creating a comfortable outdoor space where participants can relax, enjoy nature, and spend time together. The once-empty grassy area is now a welcoming gathering spot—reflecting Mathias’ care for the community and the impact of service rooted in connection. Mathias extends his heartfelt thanks to his project sponsors, mentors, volunteers and family who made his project possible through their support throughout his Scouting journey!
Spring Dance
On Friday, June 6th, RHS hosted its annual Spring Dance Concert, featuring students from Ms. DiBrita's Dance 1 course, as well as a performer as part of the Maroon and White Dance Recital series. All of the dances performed were student choreographed and all dancers did an amazing job!

Club Happenings
Quiz Bowl
Ridgewood Quiz Bowl has wrapped up another season! From April 24-27, the team of Senior Eli Young, Senior Connor Yu, Sophomore Nate Stephens, and Senior Aditya Rajesh took on IAC Nationals in DC (History Bowl) ran by Ridgewood Alum (and RHS Quiz Bowl assistant coach) David Madden. The team made it to the playoffs, before falling to Caddo Parish of Louisiana and eventual winners Livingston NJ, which was good enough to get them 18th in the entire country for History Bowl!
From May 23-25, the team of Aditya Rajesh, Connor Yu, Eitan Schneider, Eli Young, and Daniel Khalitov took HSNCT Nationals (classic Quiz Bowl) down in Atlanta. Led behind the 54.5 PPG of Aditya Rajesh, the team went 7-5, and finished 65th nationally! The team also went to the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coke during their time in Atlanta. Remember, Room 203 Mondays and Thursdays is where you can find us. We hope to see you there next year!

RHS Represented at NJ Science League
Huge congratulations to Mrs. Stucke's Chemistry I team for placing 5th in the NJ Science League! So proud of all their hard work and dedication. Special shout-outs to Chris Liang for his 3rd place individual finish and Peyton Mo for placing 29th individually. These students took four challenging exams from January to April, and their efforts truly paid off! Certificates were awarded to all who competed in every exam.
RHS Pizza Club
After sampling both plain and specialty slices from nine local pizzerias, the Pizza Club is ready to announce this year’s winners for Best Plain Slice and Best Specialty Slice!
For the second year in a row, Garbo's Italian Deli in Ho-Ho-Kus has claimed the title of Best Plain Slice. Meanwhile, Francesca in Glen Rock has once again earned top honors for Best Specialty Slice—last year for their Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and this year for their standout Pesto Pepperoni slice!
RHS Varsity Tennis
On June 5th, the RHS Boys Varsity Tennis Team became STATE CHAMPIONS for the first time since 1968! The team took home the Group IV title after winning sectionals at home and in the semifinal and final rounds at Mercer County Park.
