Bergen County Equity Think Tank (BCETT), at Ramapo College
Nine RHS students were among over 130 students from fourteen Bergen county schools who participated in the first of a three day series on Equity issues in schools. This photo shows one of the keynote speakers from Teach Asian American Stories (TAAS), presenting a workshop detailing microaggressions in school settings. Students will ultimately be tasked with developing an action research project to address a perceived "need" area for their respective high schools.

Girl Scout Highest Honors Ceremony Recognizes 9 RHS Gold Award Recipients
RHS Gold Award Candidates
On Sunday, Nov. 2nd, 9 RHS Gold Award Girl Scouts were recognized at the Ridgewood Girl Scout Highest Awards Ceremony. This is the highest number of Gold Award Candidates since 2019 (perhaps earlier), and the Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting.
Juliette Editoiu, Grace Freeborn, Christine Nally, Riana Saraogi, Anna Dickson, Christina Weispfenning, Teaghan Freeley, Brynn Michaelson, and Isabella Rupprecht all completed 80+ hours of work on a project each girl developed and implemented that impacted the local community. There are 3000 Gold Awards earned each year out of the 1.8 million women who graduate from high school annually. Less than 6% of Girl Scouts earn this award. Each Girl was awarded a $500 Scholarship from the Girl Scout Kraft Grant and issued certificates from the American Legion and the Ridgewood Village Council.
Ella Chou, Keya Jesalpura, Abigail Stine, Shivani Heltzel, Ria Baser, Alexis Garcia, Yoyo Lin, Madeline Barabas, Claire Waisnor, Emma Cronk, Amelia Salerno, Billie Della Torre, and Georgia Carter all earned their Girl Scout Silver Awards, the second highest award in Girl Scouting and completed projects which required 40+ hours of work on a project each girl developed to help a local cause.

RHS Green Club Works with Hawes Students to Improve Composting Program
Members of the Green Club went to Hawes Elementary School to work with 5th graders on their composting program. They constructed compost bins with them and educated them on the benefits of composting and how to compost properly. We are looking forward to working with the younger students of our community to make a positive environmental impact!
Project Interact
Project Interact was involved in various events in Ridgewood during the month of October. Members volunteered at Spirit Night at BF and at Halloween in the Park at Van Neste Square. Students also helped collect food at Stop & Shop and then sorted the items at RHS for the food drive. Congratulations to our member of the month, Sofia Goncalves, for all of her hard work and dedication to the club!
