RHS Green Club at the Ridgewood Earth Day Festival

The RHS Green Club helped to run the Ridgewood Earth Day Festival over Spring Break. Club members helped to publicize how easy it is to be environmentally-friendly, such as starting to compost from food scraps and switching to more sustainable products. The club collaborated with Green Ridgewood to run a Kahoot in which the winners took home electric leaf blowers, which are much quieter and don't require fossil fuel combustion!

Come by Room 391 during lunch on Wednesdays to get involved in projects to promote sustainability at RHS!

With the weather warming up, we will be spending more time in the school garden and resuming local clean-up efforts.

Ridgewood Crew Succeeds Despite Challenging Conditions

The Ridgewood Crew team participated in the fourth of the 2022 Manny Flick /Horvat Series of rowing races before the annual regatta season begins. With the heavy rainfall this week, the Schuylkill River rose to near flooding. This combined with windy, dangerous conditions on race day drove the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association to eliminate some of the events scheduled for the 4th Manny Flick. All novice and freshmen events were canceled for safety along with JV singles and doubles.  Ridgewood Crew sent 6 boats and 16 athletes.
