You can borrow great videos at the video rental. I like comedies and action films best. Next to the bakery there is a supermarket. And then, just opposite my house, there is Uncle Phil's pet shop. There you can see all kinds of pets. I like Molly, the little monkey best. On the left side of the pet shop there is a toy shop. They have got a big collection of robots there. On the right side of the pet shop there is a sweet shop. There you can buy the best lollipops in town. It is great to live in Park Street, isn't it?

He is at home They are looking everywhere: in the park, behind the church ... But they can’t find Oscar. They have got a lot of pictures of Oscar with Lolly’s telephone number.
“We can put the pictures on our school and the skyscrapers. And you boys can put the pictures on the post office and on the family houses,” says Melanie.
“OK, master!” Luka is Laughing.
“Stop kidding! This is serious. Lolly is sad.
“I must find Oscar. I’m sure he’s hungry, thirsty and scared.”
“Don’t worry, Lolly! He is now the most popular cat in our neighbourhood. Everybody is Looking for him.”
“I’m sure we can find Oscar,” says Jasmine.
And now, there are pictures of Oscar all over the neighbourhood. On the school door, on the surgery door, at the shop ... even at the police station. They are all tired. It’s late and they are going home now.
Lolly is in her room. She is really worried.
“Oh, Oscar ... where are you? Are you really Lost?
“Miaow ...” she can hear.
And there he is, in Lolly’s bed.
“Oscar! You’ve been in my bed all this time. You naughty cat!”
Lolly is not worried any more. She is only a little angry. And Oscar? Look at him. He is sleeping like a baby

IN MY STREET
I am Ian. Let me tell you about my street. It is not very long. There are some shops in the street and a lot of trees. There is a baker’s shop with fresh bread and a greengrocer’s with fresh fruit and vegetables. I go to the supermarket every day. It is next to my house. It is not a busy street so we ride our bikes there. There are no tall buildings there, just family houses and small blocks of flats. I have nice neighbours. I love my street very much.

That’s my favourite room.
In the sitting room there is an orange sofa and two chairs. There is a TV set on the cupboard. There is a big green carpet on the floor. There are two pictures on the wall. There is a big brown table and six chairs in the dining room. There is an old cupboard there, too. There is a clock on the wall. There is a cooker, a fridge and a sink in the kitchen. We’ve got a dishwasher, too. There is a small table under the window and there are some cupboards on the wall.

There are вживається з іменниками в множині.
There are many children in the classroom. — У класі багато дітей.
В українській мові речення може існувати без дієслова, а в англійській — не може, тому ми використовуємо зворот there is /there are.
Переклад ми починали з кінця речення.
На українській ми спочатку говоримо де, а потім говоримо хто або що.
На пляжі (де?) хлопчик (хто?).

У класі (де?) багато дітей (хто?).

Зверни увагу!
Якщо в реченні кілька іменників, то вибір there is / there are залежить від того, у якому числі стоїть іменник відразу після конструкції.

There are three books and a cup on the table. — На столі три книги і чашка.

The Present Continuous Tense
Present Continuous використовується для вираження певної дії, що відбувається прямо зараз, в момент говоріння. Також Present Continuous вказує на одночасні дії, що відбуваються саме в цей момент.
He’s playing the piano now. – Він зараз грає на піаніно.
I’m washing my clothes at the moment. – Я перу свій одяг в цей момент.
They’re repairing the car right now. – Вони ремонтують машину прямо зараз.
I’m working and Ann is cooking now. – Я працюю зараз, а Енн займається приготуванням їжі.
The Present Continuous Tense утворюють так: be + V-ing
Примітка. Додавання закінчення -ing призводить до змін в основі дієслів, які закінчуються на:
1) наголошений голосний + приголосний:
stop – stopping; begin – beginning
2) голосний + I: travel – travelling
3) -ie: lie – lying; die – dying
4) -e: come – coming; take – taking

She is watching TV now. – Вона зараз дивиться телевізор.
They are walking down the street. – Вони прогулюються вниз вулицею.

We’re cleaning the house. – Ми прибираємось у будинку.
Заперечне речення
Заперечне речення
Заперечне речення в Present Continuous утворюється за допомогою заперечної частки not, що ставиться після допоміжного дієслова am, is або are. Загальний порядок слів при цьому не змінюється.
I am not playing the guitar now. – Я зараз не граю на гітарі.
She is not watching TV now. – Вона зараз не дивиться телевізор.
is not = isn’t
Kate isn’t studying at the moment. – Кейт не вчиться в цей момент.
are not = aren’t
They aren’t talking about it. – Вони не розмовляють про це.
Питальне речення
Загальне питання в Present Continuous утворюється шляхом винесення допоміжного дієслова am, is або are на початок речення перед підметом.
Am I speaking over the telephone? – Я розмовляю по телефону (зараз)?
Is she watching TV now? – Вона дивиться зараз телевізор?
Are they walking down the street? – Вони йдуть вниз вулицею?
Спеціальне питання в Present Continuous утворюється за допомогою питального слова або фрази, що ставиться на початок речення перед допоміжним дієсловом. Подальший порядок слів такий самий, як і в загальному питанні для Present Continuous.
What am I doing now? – Що я зараз роблю?
What is she watching now? – Що вона зараз дивиться?
Where are they walking? – Де вони прогулюються?

1. The Present Simple Tense позначає регулярну, повторювану дію або постійний стан в теперішньому часі.
