On the 19th of May at lunchtime, students in the faculty of International Tourism Management listened to a lecture from our guest speaker Louise Sorensen. This lecture is part of a series of 5 called Lunchtime Learning (previously called TGL Camp). Louise sensei spoke about the Peace Boat. Have you ever heard about it? It sails around the world and helps to teach English and build international friendships. It stops in beautiful places like Iceland and Singapore. We also heard that the Peace Boat is important for promoting peace and SDGs around the world. The talk was only 30 minutes, but everything was in English, and the students took lots of notes. This is a great opportunity not only to practice listening to native speakers, but also to explore places students may dream of working or visiting in the future

“I was surprised that it was first founded by Waseda University students. It was very interesting for me. I understand that the Peace Boat is helpful for people to improve the environment”
