With just two more weeks of the Summer term remaining we continue to enjoy all the various activities and events synonymous with this time of year...
Inclusion Consultation Meetings, Class Photos, ABRSM exams, SAS tea party and Reception Sports Day have all now taken place this week...
And on top of all that, Year 1 is at Battersea Park Zoo today, lucky things!
Year 6 Production rehearsals also continue and a ticket request google form has now been sent out to families.
St Michael's Church clergy team conducted their last whole school worship this academic year, looking at our gospel value of compassion. Discussions surrounded how caring and showing that you care is then followed by action.
'They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.' Isaiah 49:10.
Next Week...
Year 4 are off to the Mosque on Monday morning and there are various performances to parents coming up: The Jam on Monday, Year 6 Production on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Let's Rock concerts on Wednesday and Thursday.
We are also looking forward to welcoming as many parents as possible for our drop in Open Evening from 3:30pm on Wednesday when you will be able to visit your child's classroom and view their work.
On that note, reports will be going out on Monday so do please look out for them in your child's book bags, together with their attendance and punctuality profile for this academic year.
Finally, we are looking forward to welcoming more of our ex pupils in the next week or so who are all coming in to do work experience in line with their Year 10 secondary school requirements.
Have a lovely weekend.

Our PTA:
Your Committee Needs You!
We have some roles left to fill on the committee for the coming years so please get in touch if you think you can help
Sponsorship Co-ordinator - liaising with existing sponsors and donors, as well as approaching new sources, to run the two annual raffles, advertising in the Fete brochure and agent boards. The work can be undertaken largely at your own pace.
Secretary - working closely with Co-chairs and Class Rep Liaison to maintain the website, produce newsletters, keep up social media presence, prepare agenda and minute meetings for the year.
Co-chair - we have one brave soul stepping up already but they need company! A truly rewarding role working with the best of people who are there to help make everything work. Allow 2 hours a week generally with some intense periods (June).
We are still also looking for class reps in a few places so do talk to your existing rep if you can help.
Our thanks go to those who are stepping down from their roles this year as well as those who are staying in place.
Year 6 were lucky enough to have Mrs Hess come in to talk to us about community fair trade on Tuesday morning.
In Geography this half term, we have been learning about sustainability and as a part of this, fair trade.
Mrs Hess taught us about the benefits of community fair trade and the incredible work of the Tungteiya Women's Association who have been a community fair trade partner since 1994.
It was wonderful to learn about the real world impact our unit of learning has had on the wider world.
Thank you Mrs Hess!

Class Photos:
These have now all been completed - including a separate session for Year 6 due to so many secondary school induction sessions.
Mrs Vanotti has said that they will be ready for perusal and then to order before the end of term and if parents are in a hurry to receive their prints they can choose home delivery as an option.
Otherwise you can choose free delivery, and these prints will be delivered at the start of the Autumn term.

A massive thank you to all the staff that did an amazing job to make sports week a success this year. We had GB athletes Chad Miller and Vanessa Wallace visit on Monday which was inspiring for our children. Our staff, Kick London and The Sport and Health Academy delivered a massive range of sports including Gaelic football, Capoeira, dodgeball, archery, rounders, golden child, boules, line dancing, netball and athletics. We hope the children had a great week which finished with sports day on Friday.
Sports Day
Sports day was a great day of inclusive events for our children with all children showing amazing sportsmanship and determination throughout the day. We hope all the parents that attended had a great day and thank you to all the parents that were brave enough to take part and entertain our children at the end. We finished the day by celebrating all the children that participated and won medals or the Winkworth balls for going above and beyond during sports week. We also crowned Viewfield as our house winners for athletics as they scored the most points across the school for the day.
House allocation next year
To make house allocation fair and even we will be reorganising them next year which means children will be moving houses. We want to make sure that there is an even spread of boys and girls and abilities.

The circle of control is a very helpful concept to understand for children. This poster is designed to show that mistakes happen, but they can learn to manage their reactions and grow from each experience. Share it with your children to focus on what they can control!
