This week we have been looking at the gospel value of 'reverence'. We have explored in our worship sessions how the Bible shows us deep respect, love and awe for something sacred through the story of Jesus and the Temple. The children discussed and shared how they can take this into their own lives in school through their actions and words.
"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe". Hebrews 12:28
I was honoured to receive a Bible earlier this week from the Bishop of Southwark in a very moving service. I was able to declare my commitment to the school and Diocese by the grace of God with compassion, kindness, humility and the Spirit of service. In addition, John Whitehouse our Co-Chair of Governors collected the Bishops Certificate for the training that two of our Governors have completed. See pictures below.
The Senior Leadership Team met with PC Mick this week to discuss pupil, staff and parent workshops on internet safety which will be extremely valuable to our school community. Please keep a look out for the dates which will be coming up soon.
The Educational Lead from the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education is coming to visit us on Monday and we look forward to showing her how spirituality is reflected through the school. We are also looking forward to welcoming our second set of prospective parents on Monday morning for a tour and Q & A session. Flu spray and injections are scheduled for Wednesday along with the Wandsworth Schools Cross Country Championships so we wish them all good luck.
On Friday we have the first of our Inclusion coffee mornings for new parents and Year 6 are out on a trip to the Imperial War Museum to support their History topic.
I hope you have a restful weekend.
