It was a joy to welcome our new Nursery Parents to a special introductory evening on Tuesday. And we look forward to welcoming our smallest new pupils in September. This was the Bible quote I shared with them:

There were plenty of parents and children from Year 2 in the Hall yesterday afternoon watching the Peripatetic teachers and their pupils showcasing their musical skills. We look forward to more budding musicians emerging as they move up the school.

This morning we all enjoyed the wonderful Reception Celebration of Learning assembly and learned so much about flowers, butterflies and lifecycles. Congratulations to Red and Green classes and all the staff involved in this fabulous performance.

Also this morning some of the older children went to a Panathlon Tennis Competition in King George's Park to take part in a fun festival. And they came second!

As I write, the field is a hive of activity for the Big Sort in advance of the highlight of our school year tomorrow - the PTA Summer Fete.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible tomorrow throughout the day - and in the meantime, let's all hope this lovely weather continues so that we can all make the most of this special date in the school calendar. The white lines have now been marked out on the school field and we have a full sporting schedule throughout the week. This includes special Olympic Athlete Visits and sports sessions as well as Sports Day itself, not to mention the Staff v Pupils Netball Match on Thursday after school!

Yesterday morning a free, live broadcast was provided for schools all across the country and was hosted by Sanctuary Foundation - a charity advocating for the needs of refugees.

This fast-paced, child-centred, interactive broadcast featured:- a celebration of the inclusion of refugee families in our schools and communities- art and poetry from some of the shortlisted entrants to our national schools Art and Poetry competition- a short inspirational and interactive presentation of the issues facing refugees- voices of refugees- celebrity appearances.

This year, Reception have been very busy learning all about different types of flowers, butterflies and life-cycles. We have carried out many scientific observations to help us with understanding the world around us.

Today, the Reception children performed an assembly about their learning.

As well as being busy learning their lines, they made their hats and props for their garden. The children were proud of their hard work and some of their favourite learning.

They also performed a dance, they had only just learnt. We are so proud of all the children and I would like to say a big thank you to the whole team, including parents who pulled together to make it happen.
