As we continue through this special season of Lent, we have been reflecting on how we see our gentle and quiet spirit growing within our school community. Inspired by 1 Peter 3:4, which reminds us that “a gentle and quiet spirit… is of great worth in God’s sight,” we have been noticing the ways in which our children demonstrate kindness, patience and thoughtfulness towards one another.

This week, we were delighted to see our pupils engage in so many enriching activities. Harrison’s salad-making workshop was a fantastic success, and we extend our congratulations to our winning teams from Key Stage 1 - The Colour Salad and Key Stage 2 - Super Salad! We are excited to see their winning salads featured in the lunch hall next Wednesday and look forward to tasting them. Meanwhile, the children have been making the most of our new hydration station and fresh food displays in the dining hall—enhancing their mealtime experience and encouraging them to try new foods.

A huge well done to some of our Year 3 pupils who represented our school so brilliantly at the Local Authority Spelling Bee competition. They did us proud! Congratulations also go to our netball team, who triumphed at their competition at Burntwood School—what an achievement!

Today was also a special moment for Year 2 as they showcased their ‘Great UK Road Trip’ to parents in a wonderful celebration of their learning. The children were absolutely brilliant, sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm so confidently. It was a joy to welcome parents to see the fantastic work they have been doing.

Additionally, the children in Years 3-6 had the pleasure of meeting the author Philip Kavvadias, who shared his insights and passion for writing. It was an inspiring session, and we it has sparked even more enthusiasm for storytelling among our young readers so we are re-opening the sales for his books on Parentmail until Friday 21st March 2025.

A New Hydration Station and Salad Bar has arrived at St Michael's!
We were delighted that Harrisons recently selected St Michael's to be one of the schools to add a new enhanced salad bar and infused water station to our lunchtimes.
We were delighted that Harrisons recently selected St Michael's to be one of the schools to add a new enhanced salad bar and infused water station to our lunchtimes.
They came in this week to deliver a special Workshop to some of the children for them to make some bespoke salads for the school to enjoy.

There were two sets of winners and these salads will now be served to the whole school every Wednesday for the rest of this term!

We were thrilled to welcome Usman, an Imam from our local Mosque who kindly came and shared with the children how Muslims mark the month of Ramadan.

Girls Football League
Girls Football League
The girls football team continues to go from strength to strength in the PPSSA girls football league. Yesterday we played two games with the girls dominating both games with great teamwork and passing. We won the first game 2-0 but despite dominating the second game we couldn't get the goal with the other team camped around their goal so it ended in a 0-0 draw. Well done girls, we are super proud of you all.

On Tuesday, Years 3 and 4 enjoyed a very entertaining and interactive French storytelling workshop.

Speaking only in French throughout, Audrey told the stories of Boucle d'Or et les Trois Ours and Les Trois Petits Cochons, using colourful props and costumes and lots of audience participation to keep all the children engaged.
