It has been an especially lovely start to the second half of term because we are now able to 'mix bubbles' at last and the school is buzzing more than ever now that we are all reunited.

I am also grateful to everyone for how sensibly they have been coming into school via the front gate due to some urgent building works on part of the roof. A large piece of slate was dislodged during last week's storm and has now been dealt with - did you spot the cherry picker yesterday?!

This week we have welcomed some special visitors to our school, including our Local Authority School Link Advisor Angela Rundle who joined us on Monday and who was particularly interested to see how we manage our "soft starts" in the morning.

Then on Tuesday we were delighted to be visited by Fiona Foreman from the SDBE who came in for an interim SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection.

In both cases I was so proud to showcase our wonderful school and I thank Pupil Voice and Sharon Cunningham and her Pupil Faith Group for taking part in their visits. In January 2022, as part of a review and reflection on the term ‘special educational needs’ we invited all parents from the school to complete a short survey which included questions about a potential name change and how Inclusion communicates with parents.

First of all, a massive thank you to Ms Bostock for giving up her time after school for the netball squad. Her hard work paid off yesterday at the Wandsworth School Games Netball competition at Burntwood School. There were two competitions held and we entered a team for each with both teams performing so well. We got a bronze medal in the aspire competition and a silver medal in the inspire competition. We also had some individual success with Aliyah getting player of the competition. Congratulations to all that were involved!

We have started tennis in PE this week and I have been so impressed with the level of coordination our children have shown. We have a really good baseline for the children to make progress. All Star Tennis are leading year 1 and 2 lessons with me which is amazing for the children and this week's lessons have been great.

On Wednesday 9th March 2022, England Football and Barclays are putting on the Biggest Ever Football Session for girls in school and we need your help! After school we will host a bring your own ball session afterschool on the field. I want as many girls and mums as possible from school to bring a football each to the field and take part in the biggest football session we can do. The session will be from 3:15-4:15pm. Let's fill the field!

Welcome back after a very windy half term break! We hope everyone had the chance to relax a little and you made it safely through the continual storms we had!

This week we launched the tickets for the Quiz night on March 12. Tickets are on sale via ticket tailor and can be bought individually, as part of a small group or a whole table (max ten people).

Together with the quiz night, we are running a promises auction (not like the Motherland episode we promise!!). We are currently looking for donations and would greatly appreciate any contributions. They don't need to be big spend items - ironing, babysitting, dog walking, baking etc - but anything you can offer someone else is bound to need! Please email contributions to donatesmpta@gmail.com The auction launches March 6 via Jumblebee for one week.
