This week, the mental health and wellbeing ambassadors and Mrs Stewart (Deputy Mental Health Lead) have been encouraging their peers to talk about their emotions and complete exercises which can help improve their wellbeing. Yesterday we all enjoyed the Year 6 Celebration of Learning on the theme of 'Women'. There were some fantastic costumes, great acting and music and a super series of messages were relayed by them to the rest of KS2, their KS1 siblings and to their year group parents. Well done to all pupils and staff involved.

We hope Middle Phase parents found the coffee morning held at the church yesterday beneficial, it was so lovely to be in a different space and talk about our plans going forward. We will be celebrating Harvest, with our special service at the church on Monday (pupils only) and our Food Bank collection taking place all week. More details on this below and you will also have received a Parentmail - all donations gratefully received.

On Tuesday Year 4 are spending the morning at the Buddhist Temple and as always, we are so grateful for our partnership with the local community and the warm welcome we receive each time we visit.

Next Wednesday Year 4 are having a special 'Roman Day' and we are looking forward to seeing the array of costumes, although as usual please don't feel pressured to spend any money on their outfits.

On Thursday there will be a special assembly to the children all about the Safe Streets plans in advance of their official launch after half term.

There is also a bit of a sporting theme for some of the older children, with the Panathlon on Tuesday for some of our Year 4-6 children at Southfields Academy, the Year 6 swimming assessments on Thursday at Aspire and off site football and netball for Years 4-6 after school that same day. We wish them all well with their endeavours.

1C asked an incredibly important scientific question as part of their science work on materials....'What sort of paper is best for mopping up water?'

They had to plan the steps so that their investigation was fair, so that they could compare the results they observed. The children decided to choose five different types of paper, and then used a pipette to put 10 drops of water on each type of paper.
