This week at St. Michael’s, we’ve been reflecting on the Fruit of the Spirit faithfulness, thinking about how we can be people others can rely on, showing up with trust, loyalty and care in all that we do. It’s been wonderful to see this lived out across our school community, in big and small ways.
Next week, we begin to explore goodness, starting in church on Monday. We’ll be encouraging the children to consider what it means to do the right thing, even when it’s hard and how we can live out God’s goodness in our everyday choices.
“The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.” – Psalm 145:9
This verse reminds us that God’s goodness is not just a trait, it’s something He shares generously with everyone. It inspires us to treat others with the same open-hearted compassion and care, recognising that being good isn’t just about rule-following, but about acting from a place of love. It’s a powerful example for our children as they learn to show goodness in both words and actions and a great example of our school values.
It’s been a hot week, and we’ve taken extra care to make sure children are protected from the sun and kept cool throughout the day.
We’ve had some very positive visits this week. On Monday, Andy Hough, the Head of School Participation and Performance from the Local Authority, visited and was delighted by what he saw, commenting on the strong sense of purpose and learning in every classroom. On Friday, our school link advisor also spent time with us, focusing on Pupil Leadership and Safeguarding. Our children we so fantastic, proudly sharing the ways they lead and serve in our school.
We were also pleased to meet all our new Nursery parents on Thursday evening, and we’re looking forward to welcoming our new Reception parents next Thursday evening.
Next week is shaping up to be another exciting one as Year 4 head to the London Transport Museum to enhance their History learning. Our SAS will have a tea party with their parents to celebrate the year. Years 3 and 4 have had the opportunity to sign up to learn to ride a bike and will take part in these sessions next week (bikes provided!). Please remember that there will be a second-hand bike sale on Thursday and on Friday, we’ll round off the week with our Science Fair—showcasing the creativity and innovation of our children in Years 4, 5 and 6.
Thank you for your continued support and I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the summer fete tomorrow. Remember the suncream, hats and water - it's going to be a hot one!
Best wishes
Mrs Harris
