If you have to drive to drop children at school can I please remind you to ensure you leave in plenty of time so that you are able to locate a safe parking space. Please avoid parking on yellow lines or across private driveways and protect our relationships with our local neighbours and the community.

We were also delighted to welcome Grandparents to our Year 1 classes this afternoon to share their experiences with the younger generation. We love partnering with our St Michael's community in this way and are so grateful for the support of wider family members.

On Monday we came together as a school in our ‘odd socks’ to raise awareness of bullying and to highlight ways of preventing and responding to it. We discussed the anti-bullying theme this year, ‘make a noise’ about bullying!

During the week the children took part in a variety of activities designed to bring the anti-bullying week theme to life throughout the curriculum and help keep the conversations flowing. Our weekly PSHE lessons focused on using roleplay to identify potential playground scenarios, where children could debate and compare banter and bullying. We also enjoyed creating and sharing anti-bullying week class poems together.

In the EYFS we read a picture book about ‘Montee the manatee’ which taught us how to be a kind friend by including everyone in our play. We also made friendship cards and gave them to a member of the class who we may not have played with before, which also helped us to learn all of our new friends' names.

Our year 6 House and vice captains and PE ambassadors had training with Nick Miller from the Wandsworth School Games on Friday 10th November.

The training will support them in their role leading sports for younger children.

They learnt about all aspects of planning activities for children and how to adapt games to suit their needs whilst keeping it safe and fun.

Our Year 5&6 school football team braved the elements on Tuesday 14th November to take part in the AFC Wimbledon Utilita Cup at Southfields Academy.

First of all we struck fear into all the opponents by being the only team warming up in the terrible rain. They were so resilient and really worked hard for each other on the pitch.

In the group stage we won three games and drew one against the team that finished above us on goal difference but we qualified for the quarter final in second place.
