We’ve had a wonderful start to the second half of the Autumn Term, filled with energy and enthusiasm as we continue our journey through the school year.
This week we have reflected on the gospel value of thankfulness, a theme we explored in our worships and classrooms. The Bible reminds us,
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 107:1).
We are encouraging pupils to recognise the many blessings in their lives and to express gratitude in their actions and words, both at school and at home. The church clergy team expressed this on Monday using a ring donut, encouraging the children to focus on what they do have (the outside of the donut) rather than the things they don't have (the middle part of the donut).
We were delighted to start our coffee afternoons with parents this week! It has been a joy connecting with many of you in a relaxed, informal setting and we’re looking forward to building on these opportunities to strengthen our school community. Our last two phase coffee afternoons will take place next week, and we hope you’ll join us if you haven’t had a chance already.
Next week, our focus shifts to Remembrance, a time to honour and remember those who have served and sacrificed. We will begin with a special school service on Monday at the church, where our SAS will help us reflect on the importance of peace and unity. (This is a pupils only service with our Military parents invited.)
We’re also excited to start collecting for Love in a Box next week. Donations are warmly welcomed as we come together to bring joy to those in need over the festive season. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity!
Our Year 4 students are eagerly anticipating their trip to the London Mithraeum on Thursday. This will be a fantastic opportunity for them to deepen their understanding of Roman history and explore an important part of London’s heritage. We can’t wait to hear all about their experience!
This Thursday evening at 6pm, we are pleased to welcome PC Mick to our school for an essential talk on E-Safety. With the ever-evolving digital landscape, understanding online safety is more important than ever, as it affects all of our children.
We strongly encourage as many parents as possible to attend. This session will provide valuable insights and practical advice on how to keep your child safe online. Whether your child is just beginning to use digital devices or is already active online, this talk will cover crucial information that all parents should know.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school life.
Wishing you all a restful weekend, and we look forward to another enriching week ahead.
Warmest regards
Angela Harris
Headteacher
