On Monday we held a SATS workshop for Year 6 parents - see below for the link to the presentation for those who couldn't attend.
Year 3 enjoyed a great day trip to the Tate Modern on Wednesday to learn more about Pop Art.
In the afternoon Mini St Mikes had a visit from the local Police force.
And this morning Year 1 welcomed some special visitors......older family members who came in to tell the children about the toys they played with when they were little.....More on this in next week's web update.
Next Week:
....Christmas really will have arrived at St Michael's in a big way!
Not only do we have our Reception and KS1 Nativity performances taking place but it is also the switching on of the Southfields Lights on Wednesday evening, when our choir will take part after a two year hiatus.
And then of course there is the much loved PTA Fair on Friday.....
In the meantime, don't forget to collect your pre-ordered Christmas trees tomorrow morning from the front playground!
Finally, as you will know from the parentmail that went out, yesterday we held a practise emergency lockdown and all the children were brilliant and so sensible. This is all part of our commitment to keeping children safe in education.
Best wishes for the weekend ahead...

The elves have been busy again this week ....
Christmas trees will be ready for collection tomorrow (Saturday 3rd) from the school playground. We hope to have them ready to collect from midday but we will send confirmation via tickettailor email in the morning.
We are also now open for donations to the fair, so make space in your home for the coming season by giving us your no longer used books and toys for redistribution at the fair. Donations can be dropped off either to the Christmas tree playground on Saturday or at drop-off or pick-up at the school every day next week.
Raffle tickets hopefully arrived home in bags - if you want to take part please fill in and return the stubs by Monday 5th. Either pay in cash with the returned stubs in an envelope or online at https://buytickets.at/ptastmichaels/800746
The Christmas Fair will be next Friday unbelievably! Games have been prepared, gingerbread is baking across Southfields, and gluesticks are at the ready for Christmas crafts. Snowballs will be thrown, Santa will give gifts, and Mr. Rochford will oversee a seasonal obstacle course! If you haven't paid yet, the link is still open athttps://buytickets.at/ptastmichaels/800750
And that's all the news for now - have a great weekend everyone,
The PTA Committee

As all parents know, they are able to make an appointment with the class teacher and/or SENCO to discuss concerns they have about their child's learning and development.
In addition to this The Inclusion Team would like to offer parents quick, drop-in opportunities where they can ask Mrs Harris (Deputy Headteacher, SENCo and Mental Health Lead) questions they have about their child.
These sessions are every Tuesday between 8:30-9am and run each week. If you wish to attend please come to the office reception area after drop off.
At the moment these sessions will be run on a first come first served basis, so there may be a queue.
If necessary we may move to a sign up or booking system but we wanted to see how many parents needed these sessions and how well they are attended.
Kind regards
The Inclusion Team
