Now that all the excitement of the Coronation has died down we have turned to other matters - including the SATS.
The Year 6 children have been so sensible and diligent all week and this is all we can ask of them.
Well done to Year 6 and now best of luck to Year 2 next week, although we are always mindful not to make too much of this to the children so that they don't feel unnecesarily stressed. And of course the wonderful Lower Phase staff will be there to support and help them throughout.
In the meantime, school life has continued with lots of fun in the sunshine (in between the showers) and rehearsals for the Year 1 assembly next week.
Also next week, on Tuesday Upper Phase are off to the Mosque and Year 4 will take part in an in-school Norman Workshop as part of their coursework this term.
On Wednesday there will be an Ugly Bug Ball for Mini St Mikes on the school field!
Then on Thursday the Year 1 assembly is on the theme of 'Writing'....
And finally there will be a cake sale on Friday afternoon.
Best wishes for the weekend ahead
AMG, Headteacher

Our Coronation Time Capsule was buried today alongside our lovely Queen's Canopy Tree and Platinum Jubilee Sculpture.
It is filled with newspapers from the day itself, souvenirs and many other Coronation-related contributions from the children across the school.
(We might have accidentally buried Mr Harris too...!)
It is the 9th time capsule AMG has buried since 2000!!!
Coronation Lapel Pin:
In the wake of the wonderful Coronation celebrations last week, every child and member of staff has now been gifted with one of these lovely commemorative lapel pins.
Our Royal Tree:
We are delighted that this sapling is now thriving.
It was kindly donated by a parent who took part in the Royal Documentary 'The Queen's Green Planet' in 2018. It was gifted to him as the producer of the programme and he generously went on to gift it to us.
This is the background to how we came to receive it at the time:
"Some of you will have seen the ITV documentary ‘The Queen’s Green Planet’ which was produced by ITN Productions. When the film was shown to members of the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace the production team and guests were each given a tree sapling to mark the occasion. St Michael’s parent, and Group Managing Director of ITN Productions, Mark Browning has donated his tree to St Michael’s. Some of our pupils and eco-warriors will be planting it in the school grounds in the coming weeks."
This photograph shows Fleur Anderson MP admiring it when she was here last week for the Coronation celebrations....
Well done Year 6 with your SATS this week
(And what lovely motivational quotes you all created for each other!)
Year 1 Fruit and Vegetable Platters:
Year 1 have been creating pictures on a plate with fruit and vegetables 'to encourage the Nursery children to eat more healthily'!
Aren't they creative?!

Tuesday mornings, 8:30am
As all parents know, they are able to make an appointment with the class teacher and/or SENCO to discuss concerns they have about their child's learning and development.
In addition to this The Inclusion Team would like to offer parents quick, drop-in opportunities where they can ask Mrs Harris (Deputy Headteacher, SENCo and Mental Health Lead) questions they have about their child.
At the moment these sessions will be run on a first come first served basis, so there may be a queue. Please come and wait in the School Office.
Kind regards

Reflection and Prayer:
Next week's Gospel Value is:
Trust:
God, help me trust you with my decisions and future.
Let me lean on you with all my heart instead of relying on my own imperfect understanding.
Give me clear guidance in my life.
I ask for your help to direct my path.
Lord, Hear Our Prayer:
... and finally. this year 2 pupil earned £5 for Winston's Wish "for helping my mummy with chores at home".... how very kind of her!

...and a big 'thank you to 4B' who gifted AMG with this lovely gold rimmed Coronation mug - 'God Save The King'
