This half term has begun with some lovely weather, following on from the amazing Jubilee bank holiday weekend and fingers crossed it looks set to stay this way.

It is lovely to see the children playing outside more now and the summer plants have really come into their own around school too. Thank you as always to David Wood for his green fingers and dedication to helping make our surroundings so beautiful always.

Year 1 have been busy practising for their Assembly on the theme of "Wordy Birdy World" - where they will invite us to join them in reflecting on everything that they have covered in their literacy this last year.

Year 6 have also started work on their Production this week. I can't believe it's that time of year again already and the next five weeks are going to fly by!

Speaking of which, as I write the school is filled with avid readers and their families in every nook and cranny of the building and outside areas. What a joy to bring everyone back together for our ever popular half termly RFP and to have such a great turnout to support the children and their love of reading. (We've even got Nelson the Pets For Therapy dog reading!)

We hope everyone enjoyed a great half term break and the Jubilee celebrations from here or afar! Today was so fun to see the children wearing all sorts of different clothes today and a very real reminder the summer fete is only two weeks away.

The sign up sheet was circulated yesterday for our set up / big sort and helping on the day. We have lots of stalls which we need everyone to come together to run so please sign up for a slot. If the ones allocated to your class are full, there is a sheet to put you anywhere. We always need extra help so please add your name to that if you want to.
